((this is an alternative universe where Laverna is carmen’s daughter, and they live on a private island off the coast of Ireland))

Laverna awoke in her room in her family’s infamous manor that stood isolated on a green isle off the coast of Ireland.
Her head wanted to remain on the luxuriously soft mattress and pillow covered in a white silk set. She longed to sleep in on this foggy chilly Irish morning, when there was a thundering footstep approaching her door.
She quickly sat up; before a familiar redheaded lad barged into her room with some medical marvel, he cooked up in his underground laboratory all night.

“Babe, guess what” Devlin excitedly cried out,
Laverna shook her head with a sheepish smirk growing across her freckled pale face.
“Did you find a cure for cancer?” Laverna asked her love.

Devlin groaned in response; “no, i didn't make a cure for cancer, i might have made.
a cure for your autoimmune disease.” Devlin wanted to cure Laverna for a myriad of reasons.
She was Carmen Sandiego's daughter; the universe wanted to punish Carmen for her crimes by giving her a chronically ill child. Her child’s immune system attacks her collagen, organs and bones leaving her with a vampire-like appearance.

As a result, Vile’s medical crew named this newly discovered disease as Helluva Arthritic Disease.
“Oh, that's umm nice,” Laverna replied with a pronounced frown.
Many mad doctors and crazy scientists have all given Laverna and her mother false hopes for any medical intervention of this tormentous condition.

“Did you ask my mom for permission? You know, she's getting fed up with all of those invasive treatments I have had to endure.” Laverna bluntly responded to her boyfriend with a dismissive question.

“No,” Devlin said, rubbing his fluffy hair which reminded Laverna of the highland cattle known for their copper hair.

She bit her lip revealing one of the characteristics of the disease. Her canines were withered away into razor sharp fangs. A slight tilt of her head startled Devlin.
“I am a lost cause; I fainted on the last heist before this condition was diagnosed. Which reflected poorly upon my mother’s shrewd reputation. I was only thirteen and I'm barely twenty years old now.”

Devlin knew that; he’s heard it all from his older colleagues in the medical district of vile’s many enterprises in the criminal underworld. The surface news outlets ran wild with accusations of child abuse, such as child labor, assault and starvation. All of it was further from the truth since Laverna.
Carmen’s best kept secret had publicly made herself known in such a scandal. had snuck onto that heist against her mother’s clear orders to stay home,

“You are new here, Mom hired you about six months ago; She thought I needed someone around my age to talk to.” Laverna discussed before climbing out of one of the softest beds at the manor.

“Six months? It feels like I've been here for years.” Devlin teased as he sneakily watched Laverna dig through her drawers to find a suitable outfit for this 6-degree Celsius day on the isle of vile.

It was six thirty in the morning; Carmen would be checking in on the youngest ones in her league soon Laverna pulled out a Dark Grey Cashmere mock Turtleneck and Her favorite woolen red tartan skirt; woolen gray knee highs and some black leather boots.

She ordered Devlin to leave the room so she could change out of her red flannel pajamas.; despite his verbal protest he quickly leaves not wanting his boss to catch him looking at her.

It wasn’t long before the breakfast bell rang loudly, which Laverna met with a determined grin across her face. She grabs Devlin's arm and lovingly tugs him along to the dining room.

@Lucy ... don't know if you really want wolf spiders in your home... I'd go for jumping spiders, they can't bite... wolf spiders are the fast movers, and they can bite.

((Will lose my ACP internet towards the end of the month, unless anyone knows about it ending sooner. Trying to switch my Lifeline phone to a better provider that doesn't shut me off after four and a half gigs of data, nothing but failure so far and "call here" and "it's on their end" and the back and forth crap... in the morning, it's time to demand the supervisor and might even get to harsh language (after three days of that). I plan to use the Lifeline phone tethered as Internet source, share that to my own router... I've done it before (it's messy, and not 100% effective, but it works). ))

I have active Verizon through ACP, active Lifeline through Airtalk... is that somehow the issue? If anyone knows, please let me know before I tear someone a new one (ya know what I mean). After three days of this, and two days about a month ago, I'm ready to walk there with katana in hand.))
