[Pre-opening segment:]

[One night, in Catskill, NY, the site where Anya Vorstein had died, the last remnants of Claudia's evil spirit appear and strike the river; the water bubbles, and up from the river, reaching shore, comes Anya Vorstein, but more villainous than before; her nails are 50% longer, and her eyes are more cat-like; she also has some scars from the hit she took]

Anya: That ACME Crime Net will wish they'd never crossed the path of Anya Vorstein.

[She prepares her Pokeballs and sets off for the Vorsteins' house]

[4:00am the next morning, at the Vorsteins' house, Klaus and Karl are going over a new plan, when they hear a knock on the door]

Klaus: That'd better not be the police.

Karl: [extracts his Pokeballs] Leave it to me, Uncle Klaus.

[He creeps up to the door]

Karl: Whoever's out there, come any closer, and you're Vorstein veal!

Anya's voice: Karl, it's me.

Karl: How do you know who I am? You sure as heck ain't June Chong. She died in a prison fight.

Anya: Open the door.

[Karl exasperatedly opens the door, revealing, to his and Klaus' surprise, Anya]

Klaus and Karl: Anya?!

Anya: That's right, brother. Uncle Klaus. I'm back.

Klaus: But... how?!

Anya: You realize that after I got hit by the train, Aunt Claudia's spirit came to be.

Klaus: Only because of your death. But those DigiDestined destroyed my sister's evil spirit, and now--

Anya: Her last remnants have set me free from the dead. But should I cease to exist again, so shall Aunt Claudia, in person and in spirit.

Klaus: Welcome back, Anya.

Anya: [looks around] Uh, where's Prescott and Granny?

Klaus: The DigiDestined destroyed my mother, and your oldest brother is on death row.

Anya: There goes our #2.

Klaus: Actually, my dear niece, after Prescott was eliminated, with no other henchman left alive, I appointed Karl as my new #2.

Karl: But you won't believe all the trouble we've been through in your absence, sis.

[Clips from earlier side-fics are shown as Karl narrates]

Karl: First, Prescott and I had a double battle with the top 2 trainers of the 'Munk Team but lost, then the local New Yorker that was reponsible for your death made her giant cactus friend Digivolve into a botanical fairy to drive Aunt Claudia's spirit away.

Next, the New Yorker's friends from Tokyo joined forces with the 'Munk Team while we brought back one of their enemies: Myotismon, to assist us. When they all returned to New York, they battled Granny and defeated her, even after an epic battle with the dark undersea master Dragomon.

Next, I conducted a plan for the DigiDestined and their Digimon to face shadowy versions of themselves, with a little help from my new Digimon partner: BlackGatomon. Unfortunately, the youngest of the gang and her guardian angel destroyed the shadows and saved their group, then battled BlackGatomon, who, with our aunt's dark powers, Digivolved into LadyDevimon, and battled the guardian angel, but was no match.

Next, while the DigiDestined took the day off, Prescott took on Ketchum and the 'Munk Team. He faced Jeanette in a 4-on-4 battle, but his mere Heatmor didn't stand a chance against Jeanette's newly-evolved Typhlosion. But he was not through yet. He still had one Pokemon left: Volcarona, the strongest in his arsenal. He battled the strongest link: Ash Ketchum, who sent out his Pikachu, but Ketchum and Pikachu were victorious. Prescott confessed to how our Pokemon get extra power, as well as his entire life of crime. He was picked up by the police and the FBI, found guilty in U.S. Supreme Court, and now he's dead.

Next, Uncle Klaus and I devised a plan to banish the ACME Crime Netters to the Dimension of Doom, where no man had escaped. We had a little help from my old partner, June Chong, who, courtesy of Myotismon, used the Code Key of Lust to become Lilithmon. The machine only had enough power to banish one of the DigiDestined and his partner Digimon: The leaders. Suddenly, Alvin and the baby of the DigiDestined somehow interfered with our plan, and the girl and her guardian angel Biomerged into one powerful Digimon by the name of Ophanimon, destroyed Lilithmon, defeated Chong, and destroyed her key. With the help of Alvin's Pokemon and the almighty WarGreymon, Aunt Claudia's obelisk was destroyed, along with Aunt Claudia herself and Myotismon. The gang escaped the dimension just before it ceased to exist. Chong was then arrested.

Next, I hired a pair of criminals to kidnap people in Central Park, but when we captured Alvin and Brittany, their homing devices led Kamiya and Tachikawa to the location of the kidnappers. They were almost there, when we sent a group of bikers and three evil Digimon to stop them. Karatenmon and Phelesmon were no match, but Crescemon, with the Darkrai power I lent her, Digivolved into Dianamon and knocked out Lillymon, only to be an easy target for WarGreymon. The bikers were arrested, and Kamiya and Tachikawa arrived at the kidnappers' hideout, where the NYPD awaited. The kidnappers were caught, and the captives were set free.

Next, we sent a ne'er-do-well hunter named Stan Slade to sabotage a forest, but he and his Braviary were no match for jumpy James and her newly-evolved Pidgeot. The po-po caught Slade, and the forest was safe.

Next, we sent 3 Digimon, disguised as criminals, to fake a robbery and lure three of the DigiDestined into a trap. The two Wolfmon failed, but Mephistomon Digivolved into Gulfmon and proved worthy against Ophanimon and MetalGarurumon, but suddenly, Ophanimon's Battle Star kicked in, giving the blondie boy with the hat and his own guardian angel the power to Biomerge into Seraphimon, and with his team's help, defeated Gulfmon.

The next morning, the DigiDestined and the 'Munk Team were sent to crack a murder case. I ordered one John Whittle to kill his brother-in-law, which he did, and if he obtained the insurance policies within 24 hours, we'd hire him. Unfortunately, he and his accomplice proved unworthy against ACME Crime Net and were arrested. Bozzelli's doin' 8 years, and Whittle's doin' life without parole. During his sentence, though, he was killed by another inmate.

And just a week ago, we heard from a loudmouthed radio D.J. that his sponsors cancelled their advertising for his show because of his controversy, so we asked him to vandalize those sponsors. Suddenly, Ketchum and the 'Munk Team saw that all the evidence pointed to Mr. Richardson, so Apple challenged him to a Pokemon battle, to which he agreed. Although Apple's strongest Pokemon was eliminated, her measly Ekans evolved into Arbok and beat Richardson's Ferrothorn with a mighty Fire Fang. Richardson tried to kill Apple with his gun, but she survived the shot with a bulletproof vest, and Richardson was arrested, while the other three vandals he hired were picked up by NYPD.

[Back to the present]

Karl: Face it, sis. We've been through a terrible lot.

Anya: I can see. But you do realize that with me running the show again, we'll eliminate ACME Crime Net for sure.

Klaus: Yes.

[He laughs; Karl and Anya laugh along]

[Early in the evening...]



Narrator: The story you are about to see is fictional.



Narrator: The crimes are made up, but the characters are real.

[Pokepella walks toward the studio]

Ash: [narrates] It was Friday, 6:20pm. It had rained during the daylight, and the grounds were soaked. My friends and I were working the night watch out of ACME Crime Net. The captain is Greg Lee. My partner and best buddy is Pikachu. My Unova friends are Iris and Cilan. Head of our computer division is Marnie Carlson. My name is Ketchum. I'm a singer and a Pokemon trainer.

[Pokepella enters the studio and enters HQ]

Ash: Boy. Where is everyone?

Pikachu: Pika.

Iris: I didn't see anybody in the alley.

Ash: I guess we're on our own in this case.

[The phone rings; Ash picks up]

Ash: ACME Crime Net. Ketchum. We just got here, Greg. Good. Thanks.

[He hangs up]

Ash: Greg's on the way, guys.

[Bernard enters]

Cilan: You're not Captain Lee.

Bernard: I like a connoisseur who does his homework. How are 3 of my favorite Pokemon trainers?

Ash: Fine, Bernard. And you?

Bernard: All's cool as can be, Ash. What happened? Just the few of you came?

Iris: The Chipmunks and the Chipettes are taking the day off.

Cilan: After what we've been through in last night's case, they deserve it.

[Greg enters]

Greg: Evening, guys. Glad you could show up.

Bernard: How are things, Greg?

Greg: All's well here, Bernard, but not in the case of Catskill. We got word from some of our late-night agents that Anya Vorstein is alive.

Pikachu: Pika?!

Ash: I thought she fell off the bridge after she was hit by a train!

Greg: She did, Ash. Claudia's evil spirit's sudden entrance was the result of Anya's death, but after the DigiDestined destroyed her obelisk, and the evil spirit was destroyed, just last night, her last remnants appeared out of nowhere and landed in the river where Anya fell. Anya then emerged alive, but madder than ever.

Iris: This is impossible.

Axew: Axew...

Ash: Where is she now?

Greg: She hasn't planned an attack, but guess what? Marnie found a used handkerchief in the Duelists' Office with something written on it, and we've finally pinpointed the Vorsteins' location.

[He shows Ash a picture of the Vorsteins' house]

Greg: It's an old, abandonded house in City Island. 93 Horton Street.

Ash: You have a map?

[Marnie enters]

Marnie: Right here, Ash.

[She hands Ash a route map from ACME to the Vorsteins' house]

Ash: Perfect. Thanks, Marnie.

Marnie: Happy to help you. If Jaden hadn't mislaid that handkerchief in his office months ago, we would never have found the Vorsteins' home.

Greg: You 3 have your Pokemon ready?

Iris: Yes, Captain. I got Axew, Emolga, and Excadrill, all set to go.

Cilan: Pansage, Dwebble, and Stunfisk are ready.

Ash: Pikachu, and the others can lend a hand.

Greg: However, just the three of you might not be enough, so I'll send Olivia down a little later in case you need backup.

Iris: We're on it.

Ash: Come on, Pikachu. Let's roll!

Pikachu: Pika!

[Pokepella and Bernard exit HQ]

[Later, at the Bronx-Whitestone Bridge, Bernard's cab drives, with Pokepella on their ACME Scooters in hot pursuit]

Ash: [narrates] City Island is a small island located at the extreme western end of Long Island Sound. We ventured forth to bring down the Vorsteins.

Iris: I don't get it, Ash. I mean, of all places, why'd it have to be an abandoned house?

Ash: What do you mean?

Iris: I read somewhere on the Internet that the house has been condemned for years.

Ash: True, but before the Vorsteins came along, the state had plans to tear down that old house.

Pikachu: Pika-Pika.

Iris: But aren't some condemned houses considered... scary?

Ash: I thought you were only scared of the cold. [laughs]

Iris: [sighs] Ash, you're such a kid.

[Later, they arrive at the Vorsteins' house; they park in front]

Ash: This is it.

Bernard: I'm goin' in!

[He picks up his gun and heads for the front door with a fake pizza box; he knocks]

Karl: Who is it?!

Bernard: Pizza delivery!

[Karl opens the door]

Karl: Nobody ordered any pizza, mister. Is this some kinda joke?

[Bernard opens the pizza box, revealing a search warrant]

Karl: A search warrant?!

Bernard: [extracts his gun and points it at Karl] That's right, Karl Vorstein. We're placing you and your family under arrest.

Karl: Oh, it is on like Donkey Kong! Uncle Klaus! Anya!

[Klaus and Anya join him]

[Ash, Pikachu, Iris, Axew, and Cilan enter the house and confront the Vorsteins]

Ash: We got you guys surrounded!

Pikachu: Pika-Pikachu!

Klaus: You fools have a lot of nerve to show up on my property.

Anya: Where are those little 'Munk friends of yours? Too scared to find out I'm alive?

Ash: So the captain was right. You did come back.

Anya: After my late aunt's evil spirit was eliminated, her last remnants entered my body, reviving me. Now you're all through!

Ash: We'll see.

Karl: [extracts a Pokeball] Our Pokemon will show no mercy against you. [tosses the ball] Garchomp, go!

[Out of the ball comes his Garchomp]

Garchomp: Gaaaaaaa!

Anya: [tosses a Pokeball] Go, Golurk!

[Out of the ball comes her Golurk]

Golurk: Golurk!

Klaus: [tosses a Pokeball] Krookodile, you, too!

[Out of the ball comes his Krookodile]

Krookodile: Krookodile!

[Ash, Iris, and Cilan each toss a Pokeball]

Ash: Snivy, I choose you!

Iris: Excadrill, go!

Cilan: Dwebble, you, too!

[Out of the Pokeballs come said Pokemon]

Snivy: Snivy!

Excadrill: Excadrill!

Dwebble: Dwebble!

[Cut to the backyard; the battle is about to begin; Dwebble faces Garchomp, Excadrill faces Golurk, and Snivy faces Krookodile]

Bernard: This time, Vorsteins, there's no escape!

Klaus: We'll see.

Karl: Anya, you're first!

Anya: Golurk, use Rollout!

[Golurk rolls up into a ball and spins toward Excadrill]

Iris: Excadrill, knock it back with Metal Claw!

Excadrill: Excadrill!

[He knocks Golurk back w/said attack]

Iris: Now, use Focus Blast!

[Excadrill fires said attack at Golurk, but although it hits, no damage is done]

Ash: Iris, haven't you forgotten that Golurk is part Ghost-type?!

Iris: [groans] Now who's such a kid?

Anya: Golurk, Focus Punch!

[Golurk strikes Excadrill w/said attack]

Golurk: Lurk!

Iris: Excadrill, Dig!

[Excadrill burrows underground]

Anya: Golurk, frighten Excadrill with Magnitude!

[Golurk slams its fist to the ground, creating ground waves underneath; Excadrill, hit by the waves, pops up from underground]

Anya: Now, Focus Punch again!

[Golurk is about to punch Excadrill w/said attack, when...]

Iris: Excadrill, Metal Claw!

[Excadrill blocks Golurk's punch w/said attack]

Anya: No fair!

Iris: Nice block, Excadrill! Now, use Drill Run!

[Excadrill strikes Golurk w/said attack]

Anya: Golurk, Shadow Punch!

[Golurk punches Excadrill w/said attack, but not much damage is done]

Iris: One more Metal Claw!

[Excadrill strikes Golurk w/said attack; Golurk hits the ground and faints]

Bernard: Golurk is unable to battle. Excadrill wins!

Excadrill: Excadrill!

Anya: You lucky brat! [recalls Golurk] Golurk, return.

Ash: Nice job, Iris!

Cilan: Okay, Ash. I'm next.

Karl: A mere Bug-type is no match for a powerful Dragon-type. Garchomp, begin with Stone Edge!

[Garchomp fires said attack at Dwebble]

Cilan: Dwebble, Protect!

[Dwebble blocks the Stone Edge w/said move]

Karl: Dual Chop!

[Garchomp strikes Dwebble twice w/said attack]

Cilan: Favorable move, Karl, but not quite enough. Dwebble, Shell Smash!

Dwebble: Dwebble!

[It powers up w/Shell Smash]

Karl: Way to waste your defenses, connoisseur! Garchomp, Dragon Rush!

[Garchomp flies toward Dwebble, preparing to attack]

Cilan: Dwebble, X-Scissor!

Dwebble: Dwebble!

[He strikes Garchomp w/said attack just before it can hit]

Garchomp: GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

Karl: Enough's enough, connoisseur. Garchomp, Giga Impact!

[Garchomp becomes surrounded by an orb of red aura and dives toward Dwebble]

[Dwebble takes the hit hard]

Karl: One more hit, and you're through!

Cilan: Not likely, Karl! Dwebble, Rock Slide!

Dwebble: Dwebble!

[His claws glow, and rocks fall on Garchomp, hitting it hard; Garchomp, unable to make another move, faints]

Karl: A Dragon-type losin' to a Bug-type?!

Bernard: Garchomp is unable to battle. Dwebble wins!

Ash: All right! We've done it!

Klaus: Not quite, Ketchum. You still have me to deal with. And since you're battling the leader of the Vorsteins, we shall end this mess with a 3-on-3 battle.

Ash: You got it! Ready, Snivy?!

Snivy: Snivy!

Klaus: Krookodile, begin with Crunch!

[Krookodile approaches Snivy with wide-open jaws]

Ash: Snivy, Leaf Blade!

Snivy: Sniiiiiiiiiiiii-- [strikes Krookodile in the face] --VY!

Krookodile: --DILE!

Ash: Okay, Snivy. Get ready to use attract!

[Snivy winks at Krookodile, then fires Attract at it; Krookodile takes the hit and falls in love with Snivy]

Krookodile: Dile!

Klaus: Krookodile, you blasted croc!

Anya: I guess it never occured to you that this Snivy knows Attract. You gotta be careful when using male Pokemon against her.

Klaus: Thank you, Captain Obvious!

Ash: Snivy, use Vine Whip!

[Snivy strikes Krookodile repeatedly w/said attack]

Ash: Now, finish it with Leaf Storm!

[Snivy fires said attack at Krookodile, hitting it hard; Krookodile faints]

Krookodile: Krookodile...

Bernard: Krookodile can't battle. Snivy wins!

Ash: Nice job, Snivy! Take some rest for now.

[He recalls Snivy]

Klaus: [recalls Krookodile] You may have gotten lucky this time, but this battle has only begun. [tosses another Pokeball] Shifrty, go!

[Out of the ball comes a Shiftry]



Shiftry: Shiftry!

[Ash looks up Shiftry]

Dexter: Shiftry, the Wicked Pokemon. Shiftry are said to live in deep forests, specifically in very large and very old trees.

Ash: No worries. I dealt with a few Shiftry before. [tosses another Pokeball] Tepig, I choose you!

[Out of the ball comes his Tepig]

Tepig: Tepig!

Klaus: Shiftry, Dig! Now!

[Shiftry burrows underground]

Ash: [in his mind] It could pop up anywhere at any time. Maybe... [aloud] Tepig, use Flamethrower, and aim for the hole!

[Tepig runs up to the hole that Shiftry burrowed into; he fires Flamethrower inside; the ground heats up; Shiftry pops out, on fire]

Shiftry: SHIFTRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!

Klaus: Shiftry, Nasty Plot!

[Shiftry powers up w/said move]

Ash: Must be preppin' for a strong move. Tepig, Flame Charge! Now!

[Tepig becomes enveloped in fire and zips toward Shiftry]

Klaus: Focus Blast!

[Shiftry fires said attack at Tepig; Tepig narrowly dodges the attack and hits Shiftry w/Flame Charge]

Ash: Always remember, Klaus, not just to take type and level into account, but speed, too.

Klaus: That's what you think! Shiftry, Leaf Storm!

[Shiftry fires said attack at Tepig, hitting him]

Tepig: Tepig!

Ash: You okay, Tepig?

Tepig: [nods] Tepig.

Klaus: Now for a taste of my Shiftry's great powers! Shiftry, Hyper Beam!

Shiftry: Shiftry!

[It prepares a powerful beam]

Ash: Tepig, try and block with Flamethrower!

Tepig: Tepig!

[He fires Flamethrower at Shiftry, who fires Hyper Beam at Tepig; both attacks hit their respective opponents hard]

Tepig: Te-pig.

Shiftry: Shiftry.

[Just before Tepig faints, Shiftry suffers a burn ailment from the Flamethrower and faints]

Klaus: No!

[Tepig faints next]

Ash: Tepig!

Pikachu: Pika!

Bernard: Both Tepig and Shiftry are unable to battle. Double K.O.!

[Ash and Klaus recall their Pokemon]

Klaus: This boy's good.

Karl: Too good.

Ash: Why don't you bring out your Darkrai and finish me off, Klaus?

Klaus: Oh, you dare me to do so? [snickers] Good lad. You sure know how to act like a man. But, you see, Ketchum, I have no plans to use Darkrai in this battle. I'm saving it for something bigger. [tosses another Pokeball] But this one's gonna be a guaranteed knockout!

[Out of the ball comes a Machamp]



Machamp: Machamp!

Ash: It's a Machamp!

[He looks up Machamp]

Dexter: Machamp, the Superpower Pokemon, and the evolved form of Machoke. Trying to do any work requiring care and dexterity causes Machamp's arms to get tangled.

Cilan: It's rather big, Ash! You'd better call it quits now!

Ash: No! I know never to back down on a challenge, no matter how big it is! [tosses another Pokeball] Snivy, back to you!

[Out of the ball comes Snivy again]

Snivy: Snivy!

Ash: Snivy, use Attract!

Snivy: Snivy!

[She winks at Machamp, then fires Attract at it]

Klaus: Machamp, Karate Chop! Now!

[Machamp blocks the Attract w/said attack]

Machamp: Machamp!

Ash: Shoot! That was the same strategy Stephan tried to use against you during the Nimbasa Town Battle Tournament, Iris!

Iris: I had no idea Klaus could use such a strategy!

Klaus: Even though there's a 25% chance of a Machamp being female, I highly trained my Machamp for defense against Attract and Captivate. Now for the fun. Machamp, Cross Chop! Now!

Machamp: [hands glow red] Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa-- [strikes Snivy] --CHAMP!!

Snivy: [takes the hit] SNIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII--!!! [hits the ground] --vy!

[She faints]

Ash: Snivy!

[He picks up Snivy]

Bernard: Snivy is unable to battle. Machamp wins.

Klaus: Why don't you show some enthusiasm when a Pokemon belonging to me wins, Mullen?

Bernard: Stuff it, Vorstein.

Ash: You okay, Snivy?

Snivy: [nods weakly] Snivy.

Ash: You gave it a good try. [recalls Snivy] Return.

Klaus: So, Ketchum, do you surrender?

Ash: No way, Klaus. We're here to take you in, so this battle is not over! Pikachu, take it away!

[Pikachu faces Machamp]

Pikachu: Pika!

Klaus: A little wimp up against my almighty Machamp? This should be interesting. Machamp, Cross Chop!

[Machamp is about to strike Pikachu, when...]

Ash: Pikachu, dodge and use Quick Attack!

[Pikachu dodges and strikes Machamp w/said attack]

Pikachu: Pika-Pika!

Ash: Use Thunderbolt!

Pikachu: Pikaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa-- [fires Thunderbolt at Machamp] --CHUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!

[Machamp gets zapped]

Machamp: CHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMP!!!

Klaus: Machamp, Karate Chop!

[Machamp strikes Pikachu w/said attack]

Pikachu: PIKA!

[He hits the ground]

Machamp: Machamp...

[Before it can get any closer to Pikachu, it suddenly suffers a paralysis ailment from Pikachu's Static ability]

Klaus: Heavens to Betsy! I forgot about Static!

Anya: Static...

Karl: Uncle Klaus, you do realize that this battle may be in your favor, don't you?

Klaus: What do you mean?

Karl: Look at Machamp!

[Machamp's eyes glow red with rage]

Klaus: Oh, yes. Guts. All physical moves are 50% stronger if Machamp suffers an ailment, such as burn, paralyze, sleep, or poisoning.

Ash: This is not good.

Pikachu: Pika-Pika.

Iris: Be careful, you two!

Klaus: Machamp, DynamicPunch! Full power!

Machamp: Machamp!

[It clenches its top-right fist, which glows red]

Machamp: Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa-- [punches Pikachu hard] --CHAMP!!!

[Pikachu hits the ground and becomes confused]

Ash: Pikachu!

Iris: DynamicPunch's side-effect confuses the opponent once it's hit!

Cilan: Pikachu's in serious trouble now!

Ash: Pikachu, use Iron Tail!

[Pikachu tries to, but ends up slapping himself]

Pikachu: Pika-Pika-Pika-Pika!

Klaus: Face it, Ketchum. Your Pikachu is helpless. Machamp, Seismic Toss!

[Machamp grabs Pikachu, spins around, then chucks him to the ground]

Ash: No!

Klaus: Now, for the finale, Machamp! Cross Chop!

[Machamp is about to attack, but its paralysis prevents it]

Machamp: [weakly] Machamp!

Ash: Whew! That was a close one!

[Pikachu quickly snaps out of confusion]

Klaus: Don't think Machamp's paralysis can save you, Ketchum!

Ash: Pikachu, use Iron Tail!

[Pikachu's tail becomes metallicized]

Pikachu: Chuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu-- [strikes Machamp in the face] --PIKA!!

Machamp: CHAMP!

Iris: You can do it, Pikachu!

Axew: Axew-Axew!

Cilan: As long as Machamp doesn't make another move, Ash has it!

Ash: Pikachu, Electro Ball!

Pikachu: [gathers electricity into a ball] Pika-Pika-Pikaaaaa-- [fires Electro Ball at Machamp] --CHU-PI!!!

[Machamp gets hit and zapped]

Ash: All right! Direct hit!

Klaus: Machamp, DynamicPunch!

[Machamp's fist glows and is about to strike Pikachu, when...]

Ash: Pikachu, Iron Tail!

[Pikachu's tail becomes metallicized again]

Pikachu: Chuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu-- [strikes Machamp in the fist] --PIKA!!

[After 15 seconds of pause, Machamp slowly flinches, lets its fist go, and hits the ground]

Pikachu: [nearly out of breath] Pika. Pika. Pika. Pika.

[Machamp stares at him in anger]

Machamp: Ma-champ...

[It is about to strike Pikachu with Karate Chop, but suddenly faints]

Bernard: Machamp is unable to battle. Pikachu wins! Ash wins the match!

Ash: Justice is served!

Pikachu: Pi-Pikachu!

Ash: Come here, buddy!

Pikachu: Pika-Pi! Pika-chu!

[He jumps into Ash's arms; Ash hugs him]

Iris: Nice job, you guys!

Axew: Axew!

Cilan: Yes!

Bernard: WHOO!

[Klaus recalls Machamp, then extracts one more Pokeball]

Ash: Forget it, Klaus. The battle's over.

Klaus: But my war is far from over, Ketchum! [tosses the ball] Darkrai, destroy them!

[Out of the ball comes his Darkrai]

Ash: Bernard, get him!

[Bernard runs up to Klaus, but Karl punches him in the face; Bernard hits the ground]

Ash: Hey! That's against the law, assault and battery on a police officer!

Karl: I don't give a hoot! I committed bigger crimes than this!

Klaus: Well done, Karl. Okay, Darkrai! Show these punks no mercy! Put them all to sleep with Dark Void!

[Darkrai is about to fire said attack at the gang, when suddenly, a Dragon Pulse attack falls out of nowhere and hits Darkrai, cancelling its attack]

Klaus: Who did this?!

[Pokepella looks up at the sky and sees Olivia riding her Dragonite]

Ash and Iris: Olivia!

Pikachu: Pi-Pika!

[Olivia and Dragonite land on the ground]

Olivia: Didn't Greg tell you earlier that he'd send me for backup?

Ash: Glad you made it, Olivia. You and Dragonite.

Olivia: Save the thanks for later, Ash. Dragonite and I have a score to settle with Darkrai.

Klaus: Oh, with pleasure. Klaus, forget those younger punks and go after Dragonite like before!

[Dragonite and Darkrai face each other]

Olivia: Dragonite, start with Draco Meteor!

[Dragonite fires said attack up in the air, and the meteor explodes, firing smaller meteors at Darkrai]

Klaus: Darkrai, dodge those meteors!

[Darkrai does so, except for one, which hits it hard]

Klaus: Now, use Dark Pulse!

[Darkrai fires said attack at Dragonite, hitting it]

Olivia: Dragonite, Dragon Rush!

Klaus: Darkrai, Shadow Ball!

[Darkrai prepares Shadow Ball, but Dragonite strikes it with Dragon Rush before it can attack]

Ash: Nice work, Olivia!

Olivia and Klaus: Hyper Beam!

[Dragonite and Darkrai both fire said attack at each other; both attacks collide, causing an explosion]

[After the smoke clears, Dragonite and Darkrai, despite being unable to immediately attack after using Hyper Beam, are both in hand-to-hand combat at close range]

Ash: This is gonna get ugly!

Klaus: Don't give in to Dragonite, Darkrai!

Olivia: Dragonite, hold your ground!

[Dragonite presses its feet firmly into the ground]

[Suddenly, Darkrai, unable to handle Dragonite's strength, loses its grip and slips to the ground]

Olivia: Yes!

Klaus: This is too much. It's time to retreat! Darkrai, return!

[He recalls Darkrai]

Olivia: We did it, Dragonite!

[Dragonite roars in triumph]

Klaus: You may have won this round, ACME Crime Net, but next time, you won't be so lucky. In fact, you'll all be eliminated. And so long as I have this,-- [extracts the Orb of Nightmares] The Orb of Nightmares, nothing can stop us.

Ash: So that's the orb Prescott told us about!

Klaus: Well, we'd best be off. [pushes a button on a remote control] Ta-ta.

[Inside his house, a detonator is armed, set to go off in 45 seconds]

[Back to the backyard]

Klaus: I don't need this joint anymore. We've 45 seconds to leave. Minions, to the helicopter!

[He, Anya, and Karl enter the helicopter, with all their stolen goods in a pair of suitcases, and the orb in Klaus' hands; Klaus starts the helicopter, and they fly off]

Bernard: Stop that helicopter in the name of the law!

Ash: Pikachu, Thunderbolt!

Pikachu: Pikaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa-- [fires Thunderbolt at the helicopter] CHUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!

[The attack almost hits the helicopter, but it is too fast for it; the helicopter flies away]

Olivia: Rats! They got away again!

Bernard: We gotta get outta here, guys! There's a bomb in the house! Let's go!

Ash: This place is gonna blow, Pikachu! Come on!

Pikachu: Pika-Pika!

[Iris, Cilan, and Olivia recall their Pokemon; all head back into the house; the detonator is down to 20 seconds; inside, as Ash, Pikachu, Olivia, Cilan, and Bernard exit the house Iris suddenly finds a red briefcase the Vorsteins left behind]

Iris: Axew, look! They left something behind!

Axew: Axew!

[Ash runs back inside]

Ash: Iris, come on! It's gonna blow in 15 seconds!

Iris: But, Ash, this briefcase...!

Ash: We'll take it with us! Let's go!

[Iris grabs the briefcase as Ash grabs her hand; they both hurry out of the house]

[Outside, Olivia, Ash, Iris, and Cilan get on their ACME Scooters as Bernard gets in his cab; they all drive off with seconds to spare]

[Back in the house, the detonator counts down the last 4 seconds]

[As the detonator hits 0, the house explodes and goes down in flames]

[In the Vorsteins' helicopter, Karl has seen the whole explosion]

Karl: The house is gone.

Anya: Wait a second. Didn't I hire a technician from next door to work on the heater this afternoon?

Klaus: I'm pretty sure he left.

Karl: [points down] Isn't that his van?

[Klaus notices a technician's white van in front of the destroyed house (the van has equipment inside)]

Klaus: Well, by God, you two. We're murderers. At least we're still on the run. Say, did you two get everything?

Karl: All except the red briefcase with some important files inside, Uncle Klaus.

Klaus: No matter. We'll make the best of things.

[His helicopter flies out of sight]

[Back at ACME Crime Net HQ, Ash is on the phone with Alvin]

Alvin: [on phone] How could you let those monsters escape?! Do you realize how long we've been trying to capture them?!

Ash: Alvin, look. We would've had 'em, but they were too smart for us. Their house is destroyed, and the helicopter's disappeared from the tracking system. We've no way of knowing where they're goin' now.

Alvin: And you guys almost had Darkrai.

Ash: I know. We were this close.

Alvin: I want you to put out a nationwide APB on those Vorsteins at once, Ash.

Ash: I'll tell Greg right away, Alvin. Bye.

Alvin: Bye.

[Ash hangs up]

Iris: Alvin?

Ash: Yep. He was really upset.

Pikachu: Pika-Pikachu.

Cilan: I got a call from the fire department. The house is completely burnt to the ground. After they put out the fire, they also found a dead body in what used to be the boiler room.

Olivia: Heavens! I bet his family is devastated.

Bernard: Yep. The woman living next door recognized the body as her husband. He was a professional technician for fixing boilers.

Ash: Poor woman. Her husband deserves justice after what the Vorsteins have done.

Olivia: But how are we gonna explain this to Greg?

[Greg enters]

Greg: Explain what to me?

Cilan: Captain, we hate to be the bearers of bad news, but...

Ash: We almost had the Vorsteins, Greg, but they got away in their helicopter and blew up their house.

Pikachu: Pikachu.

Greg: [sighs] No one can say you guys didn't try.

Ash: But Alvin, the one who dealt with Klaus in the first place, was very upset when we broke the news to him. He asked us to put out a nationwide all-points bulletin on the Vorsteins.

Greg: And that, I will do. I'll call the Chief.

Iris: Just a minute, Greg. Before the house blew up, I managed to find this.

[She shows Greg the red briefcase she found]

Greg: A briefcase?

Ash: The Vorsteins must've left it behind after they left.

Iris: Now it's ours. All ours.

Greg: Open it up. Things may be lookin' up after all.

[Iris opens the briefcase, and inside are files]

Ash: Great. I was expecting treasure. Instead, it's a bunch of files.

Greg: Wait a sec. Lemme see those files.

[Ash hands him the files; Greg looks through them all]

Greg: Wow. Hmm... They may hold up in court as evidence.

Bernard: What do you mean?

Greg: Inside these files are the details of Project Nightmare: A plan to cause nightmare disorder to the country. It was signed by Carmen Sandiego, who offered Klaus $25,000,000. And there's also a list of the areas he's hit before he escaped us. New York City was his first target.

Ash: I'll call Alvin. You'd better get that APB ready.

Greg: Right. I'll call the Chief.

[Both get on the phones]

Ash: [narrates] While I called Alvin and told him about the new evidence we found, Greg asked the Chief to put out a nationwide APB on the Vorsteins that could lead us to their next location. Who knows where we may find them?
