Narrator: The problems are made up, but the characters are real.

[A taxi cab pulls up in front of the Hilton New York, and out come Tai and Sora]

Sora: [narrates] It was Thursday, 11:10pm. I know it's a little late, but Tai and I had just come back from a night out. After working the night watch out of ACME Crime Net, apprehending a criminal who committed armed robbery in the Edison, we went out to see Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked, then had some pizza before we returned to the Hilton New York. My partner, and possible boyfriend, is Tai Kamiya. The captain is Greg Lee. My name is Takenouchi. I'm a singer.

[Tai and Sora enter the hotel, and head for Tai's room]

Sora: Want me to sleep over tonight?

Tai: Sure thing. I hope Kari doesn't mind.

[He opens the door with his key card, and he and Sora enter, shut the door, and kick off their shoes and jackets]

Tai: You enjoyed the night?

Sora: Best night I ever had, Tai. Great movie, great pizza. I just don't understand why it was rated G, unlike the first two, which were rated PG.

Tai: Nothing too inappropriate, perhaps. But ya gotta give props.

Sora: Best movie I've seen all year.

Tai: By the way, how did Alvin do on his case earlier today?

Sora: Perhaps a look at earlier scenes should tell the story.

[Clips from the previous side-fic are shown]

Sora: [voice-over] I wish we would've been involved in this, but Greg informed Ash, his gang, and the 'Munk Team, joined by Miss James, to investigate a poaching case in Black Rock Forest. They ventured forth and confronted the poacher: Stan Slade. He refused to give in without a fight, so Miss James challenged him to a Pokemon battle while the others dealt with a raging Tropius. Slade's Braviary seemed too much for Miss James' Pidgeotto, until it evolved into Pidgeot, learned Hurricane, and defeated the enemy. As Iris' Excadrill held Slade down, Pidgeot, along with Pikachu and Charizard, weakened Tropius enough for Alvin to make the catch. Slade was apprehended, and boom. Behind bars he goes.

[Back to the present]

Tai: She sure had it in her, didn't she?

Sora: Yep. Uh, could I borrow your key?

Tai: [hands Sora his key] Sure. Why?

Sora: I gotta get something from my room. I'll be right back. You can get changed while I'm out.

[She exits the room]

[Tai removes his vest and shirt, puts on a t-shirt, removes his slacks and socks, and gets into bed in his t-shirt and red boxers]

[Sora enters with a thin, red, silk nightie on her shoulder]

[She slams the door shut]

Tai: That's it?

Sora: Yep. I'll be in the bathroom.

[She walks into the bathroom; Tai twiddles his thumbs for a moment, then Sora comes out of the bathroom, wearing a night robe]

Tai: Whoa.

Sora: You ain't seen nothin' yet.

[She slowly unties her robe and removes it, revealing that she's wearing her nightie]

Tai: Lemme scooch down.

[He moves to the end of the bed]

[Sora shuts off the main lights, turns on a lamp, then approaches the bed with the elegance of a vixen; she climbs onto the bed and gets under the covers with Tai]

Tai: Sora, don't you think it's a bit--

Sora: I know it's cold out, but--

Tai: Not the cold. Don't you think this is all happening too fast?

Sora: Maybe. But we're both 17, we've been friends for almost 15 years, we just had a wonderful night out. Plus, it was such a big night, I get tired easily.

Tai: I know.

Sora: By the way, Tai, where's Kari?

Tai: She's on stakeout tonight with Matt and T.K. There's a series of hold-ups in Greenwich Village. She probably won't be back for a couple more hours. But I'm kinda worried. If she finds us in bed together, she'll flip.

Sora: I'm sure she'll get over it.

Tai: I hope you're right.

Sora: Now, kiss me, sweetie.

Tai: [sighs] Mercy.

[He and Sora look into one another's eyes and share a slow kiss; Tai wraps his arms around Sora, who wraps hers around his neck; Tai turns off the lamp, and both he and Sora drift off to sleep]

[Meanwhile, in Greenwich Village, Kari, T.K., and Matt along with Gatomon, Patamon, and Gabumon, look at a trio of burglars near a street of stores through their binoculars while hiding behind a tree]

Kari: Those the guys, Matt?

Matt: Safe to say.

T.K.: Once the burglars hold up that grocery store, we make our move.

[Inside the grocery store, the burglars, guns in hand, walk up to the cashier]

Lead burglar: This is a hold-up!

[Customers panic and exit the store]

Cashier: [holds up his hands] Don't shoot!

Lead burglar: Open up that till, and gimme the dough!

[The cashier extracts all the money from the cash register, drops it into a black bag, and hands it to the lead burglar]

Lead burglar: Hands down.

[The cashier lowers his hands]

Lead burglar: C'mon, boys. To the next store.

[He and his fellow burglars are about to leave, when suddenly, Kari, T.K., and Matt jump in; all 3 reveal their badges]

Kari: ACME Crime Net! FREEZE!

[The burglars hold up their hands]

Lead burglar: Don't kill us!

T.K.: We're not here to kill you. We're here to arrest you!

Matt: Drop your guns and drop the money!

[The burglars drop their guns and the stolen money]

Kari: You're comin' outside with us.

[She and the other two lead the burglars outside]

Matt: You choose to give in to us that easily, eh?

Lead burglar: 'Cause I want the pleasure of beatin' you myself. I'm not really a burglar. I am...

[He transforms into...]



Mephistomon: Mephistomon!

Gabumon: Mephistomon is a Dark Animal Digimon whose principle is the extermination of all life. He can decay his enemies with his Dark Cloud attack.

T.K.: But what about the other two?

Mephistomon: My pets.

[His two fellow burglars each transform into a Fangmon]



Gatomon: A pair of Fangmon!

Patamon: These Demon Beast Digimon may only be at the Champion level, but they've a bad temper. Guess the reason why they're burglars in disguise is because of their Snipe Steal attack.

Mephistomon: I gave up the burglary so that we could get the honor of destroying you. Our boss, Karl Vorstein, sent us here.

Kari: I should've known it was the Vorsteins!

Gatomon: Let's take 'em down!

Matt: Right!

[He, T.K., and Kari extract their Digivices, and they activate and power up their Digimon]

Gabumon: Gabumon, Digivolve to...!

[He Digivolves into...]

Garurumon: Garurumon!

Patamon: Patamon, Digivolve to...!

[He Digivolves into...]

Angemon: Angemon!

Garurumon: Garurumon, Digivolve to...!

[He Digivolves into...]

WereGarurumon: WereGarurumon! [howls]

Angemon: Angemon, Digivolve to...!

[He Digivolves into...]

MagnaAngemon: MagnaAngemon!

Gatomon: Gatomon, Digivolve to...!

[She Digivolves into...]

Angewomon: Angewomon!

[The 3 face Mephistomon's gang]

Mephistomon: Fangmon, get the angels!

Both Fangmon: Right, boss!

[They charge at MagnaAngemon and Angewomon]

Angewomon: Celestial Arrow!

[She fires her attack at one of the Fangmon, hitting him]

MagnaAngemon: Excalibur!

[He strikes the other Fangmon, hitting him]

Matt: Take care of that ram-face, WereGarurumon!

[WereGarurumon faces Mephistomon]

WereGarurumon: Wolf Claw!

[He fires his attack at Mephistomon]

Mephistomon: Dark Cloud!

[He fires his attack at WereGarurumon's attack, blocking it]

Mephistomon: Take this!

[He punches WereGarurumon in the midsection]

WereGarurumon: Take that!

[He punches Mephistomon in the midsection]

Kari: I don't like the looks of this.

[She suddenly gasps as one of the Fangmon has his jaws open wide as he approaches Angewomon]

Kari: Angewomon, look out!

Angewomon: Heaven's Charm!

[She fires her attack at the Fangmon, hitting it]

[The Fangmon screams and vanishes into dust]

Kari: That was too close!

T.K.: We still gotta get the other one!

[The 2nd Fangmon charges at MagnaAngemon]

MagnaAngemon: Gate of Destiny!

[With his sword, he opens the Gate of Destiny in front of him, and Fangmon leaps inside]

Fangmon: HEY! No fair!

MagnaAngemon: And you're next, Mephistomon!

WereGarurumon: Garuru-Kick!

[He kicks Mephistomon towards the gate with his attack, but just as Mephistomon is about to reach the gate, he jumps off the gate, and lands back on the ground; the gate shuts and disappears]

Mephistomon: Didn't think I was gonna land in the gate, were you?

Matt: Almost had him!

[At the Vorsteins' house, Karl and Klaus watch the battle from the surveillance screens]

Karl: Yes! We have them now! Uncle Klaus, get the orb ready!

[Klaus extracts the Orb of Nightmares and raises it to the sky]

Klaus: Orb of Nightmares, fill Mephistomon with absolute power!

[The orb glows, and back at the battle, a dark beam hits Mephistomon]

Mephistomon: Mephistomon, Dark-Digivolve to...!

[He Digivolves into...]



Gulfmon: Gulfmon!

T.K.: He's huge!

Kari: Like a giant-sized Centarumon on wings.

Angewomon: Gulfmon is built like a bestial winged centaur. Anyone who listens to his Dead Scream is in perpetual danger.

Gulfmon: In the name of Mr. Vorstein, I hereby exterminate thee! [points at WereGarurumon] And I'll start with you! Dead Scream!

[He fires his attack at WereGarurumon, causing him to de-Digivolve back into Gabumon]

Matt: Gabumon!

Gabumon: That's it! It's time to fight Mega with Mega!

Matt: Let's go!

[His Digivice powers up Gabumon]

Gabumon: Gabumon, Warp-Digivolve to...!

[He bypasses his Champion and Ultimate levels and Digivolves into his Mega stage...]



MetalGarurumon: MetalGarurumon!

Matt: MetalGarurumon hasn't changed a bit. This Android Digimon has the power to freeze its enemies with cold air at absolute zero, also known as Metal Wolf Claw.

Kari: Angewomon, let's give 'em a hand!

Angewomon: Right!

[Kari raises her Digivice to the sky]

Kari: Biomerge, activate!

[Her body starts to glow]

Angewomon: Angewomon, Biomerge to...!

[She and Kari Biomerge into...]

Ophanimon: Ophanimon!

[She, MagnaAngemon, and MetalGarurumon face Gulfmon]

Gulfmon: I can handle two Megas and one Ultimate at once!

Ophanimon: Sefirot Crystal!

[She fires her attack at Gulfmon]

MetalGarurumon: Grace Cross Freezer!

[He fires missiles at Gulfmon]

MagnaAngemon: Soul Vanisher!

[He fires his attack at Gulfmon]

[All 3 attacks hit Gulfmon, and he freezes]

[Inside Ophanimon...]

Kari: That should cool him down.

[Back at the battle, Gulfmon suddenly vibrates, and the ice breaks, setting him free]

Ophanimon: [seethes] Nothing!

MetalGarurumon: Garuru Tomahawk!

[He fires a missile from his chest at Gulfmon, but Gulfmon blocks the attack]

Gulfmon: Black Requiem!

[He fires his attack from his 2nd mouth at MetalGarurumon, hitting him]

Ophanimon: Eden's Javelin!

[She fires her attack at Gulfmon, who dodges]

Gulfmon: Dead Scream!

[He fires his attack at Ophanimon, hitting her]

Ophanimon: [in Angewomon's voice] Kari, are you all right?

[Inside her, Kari has fallen on her knees]

Kari: I'm okay. Apparently, the Vorsteins must've anticipated we'd Biomerge.

[Back to the battle]

Ophanimon: We gotta stop him somehow.

MagnaAngemon: Let me handle him! Excalibur!

[He strikes Gulfmon w/his sword]

T.K.: MagnaAngemon, don't do it!

MetalGarurumon: He's too strong!

Gulfmon: Black Requiem!

[He fires his attack at MagnaAngemon, hitting him]

Gulfmon: Dead Scream!

[He fires his attack at MagnaAngemon, hitting him harder]

MagnaAngemon: NO!

[He de-Digivolves back into Angemon]

Matt: It's no use! Gulfmon's too strong!

Angemon: I won't let Klaus Vorstein or any of his gang... win!

Gulfmon: Now to finish you all off!

[T.K. faces him]

T.K.: Then you'll have to kill me first!

Matt: T.K., no!

Ophanimon: I think he's up to something.

T.K.: You can kill me if you want to, Gulfmon, but don't even think of harming my brother and friends! We've been through so much together, and I'm not letting it all go up in smoke by the likes of you! And I have high hopes that no Vorstein will ever amount to anything in the history of the world! I have hopes that they'll never prevail!

Gulfmon: I admire your courage, young man. Prepare to suffer!

[He powers up his attack]

[Suddenly, a portion of the Battle Star emerges from Ophanimon's body]

Ophanimon: [in Angewomon's voice] What's going on?!

[Inside her...]

Kari: It's the Battle Star! It must've responded to T.K.'s act and split in half. And now...

[Outside...]

Ophanimon: T.K. gets the power!

[The part of the Battle Star infuses itself into T.K.'s Digivice]

T.K.: The Battle Star?

Angemon: T.K., your bravery and hope has given us the power to...

T.K.: Biomerge?

Matt: I knew my brother had it in him!

MetalGarurumon: Now we can win!

[T.K. slowly raises his Digivice in the air; it glows and activates]

T.K.: Biomerge, activate!

[His body starts to glow]

Angemon: Angemon, Biomerge to...!

[He and T.K. Biomerge into...]



Seraphimon: [T.K. and Angemon's voices together] Seraphimon!

Matt: They're awesome together!

MetalGarurumon: Incredible!

Ophanimon: [in Angewomon's voice] Isn't he wonderful, Kari?

[Inside her...]

Kari: Wonderful? He's like a dream.

[Inside Seraphimon, T.K. is surrounded by green aura]

T.K.: Angemon and I... We're one now!

Angemon's voice: Now with three Mega Digimon against one, nothing can stop us!

[Outside, Seraphimon faces Gulfmon]

[Hey, Digimon is heard in the background]

Gulfmon: Who do you think you are?!

Seraphimon: I am Seraphimon, an Angel Digimon, Vaccine-type, at the Mega stage. I possess 10 golden wings, and Excalibur assists me in this form. My strongest attack: Strike of the Seven Stars, purifies all my enemies.

Gulfmon: This can't be! I thought the Battle Star was used up!

Seraphimon: Not quite. There was enough power to lend to one more DigiDestined and his partner. And if this is the only way to defeat you, Gulfmon, then so be it!

Gulfmon: Then bring it on!

[Seraphimon clenches his left fist; an orb of light appears]

Seraphimon: Hallowed Knuckle!

[He punches the orb toward Gulfmon, who takes the hit]

Gulfmon: Dead Scream!

[He fires his attack at Seraphimon, who blocks the attack]

Seraphimon: [Excalibur appears on right forearm] Excalibur!

[He strikes Gulfmon w/his attack; Gulfmon gets thrown back and hits the ground]

Ophanimon: Great work, Seraphimon!

Matt: Let's help 'em out, MetalGarurumon!

MetalGarurumon: Right!

Ophanimon: Count me in!

[The 2 Digimon join Seraphimon and face Gulfmon]

Gulfmon: One Mega Digimon or 100, I'll destroy you all!

MetalGarurumon: Not when three Megas work together!

Ophanimon: Let's all attack at once!

Seraphimon: [in T.K.'s voice] Ladies first?

Ophanimon: [in Kari's voice] My pleasure. [normally] Eden's Javelin!

[She fires her attack at Gulfmon, who screams as he gets hit and zapped]

MetalGarurumon: Metal Wolf Claw!

[He fires his attack at Gulfmon, who gets hit; his legs freeze]

Seraphimon: And now, for the finisher!

[7 super-heated spherical stars of sacred light appear in front of him]

Seraphimon: Strike of the Seven Stars!

[He fires all 7 stars at Gulfmon, who screams in agony as he gets hit by the attack harder than ever]

Gulfmon: Gulfmon may have fallen,... but... the Vorsteins... will... prevail!

[He falls to the ground, and an explosion is shown]

[After the explosion clears, Gulfmon is gone for good]

Seraphimon: We've done it.

Ophanimon: Another one bites the dust.

[MetalGarurumon de-Digivolves back into Gabumon; Seraphimon and Ophanimon de-Digivolve back into T.K. & Tokomon (Patamon's In-Training stage), and Kari & Gatomon, respectively]

T.K.: Sometimes it takes up a lot of energy as a Mega Digimon, eh, Tokomon?

Tokomon: Tell me about it. But it's worth it. We got rid of Gulfmon.

Matt: I'm real proud of you, little bro.

T.K.: Aw, it was nothing, Matt. Nothing at all.

Matt: Come here, you!

[He and T.K. embrace]

[Kari looks at her watch]

Kari: Oh, no! It's a quarter to midnight! I think we'd better head back to the hotel and get some sleep.

Gatomon: We need our rest to fight the remaining Vorsteins.

T.K.: Let's go.

[They get on their ACME Scooters and drive off]

[Back at the hotel, Kari and Gatomon approach the hall]

Kari: I'll see you two in the morning.

[She and Gatomon walk down the hall and approaches her hotel room]

[Kari knocks on the door]

Kari: Tai, are you there?

Tai: [under breath] Uh-oh. [louder tone] Yeah.

Kari: [unlocks the door with her key] I know it's late, but it was a tough battle. The burglars turned out to be evil Digimon sent by the Vorsteins. [opens the door] But we took care of 'em. All of 'em. Plus, T.K. and Patamon now have the power to Biomerge to Mega.

[But as she and Gatomon walk in, and Kari turns on the light, she stares at the bed, and Tai and Sora slowly, and nervously, sit up]

[Kari is shocked]

Tai: Uh... Hi, Kari?

Sora: What's that about T.K.?

Kari: [breathes] I'm a teenager. I can handle this.

[After one last deep-healing breath, she swoons, then faints]

Gatomon: Kari, are you okay? What'd you see that made you faint?

Tai: She caught us in bed together.

[Gatomon gasps, swoons, and faints, too]

Sora: We're busted.

Narrator: How will Tai and Sora explain their night to Kari when she awakens, and will they keep this a secret from the others? Find out next time!
