While we await the writing games to flow again, let's play a brief guessing game, shall we?

For 10 points or bragging rights (you may only choose one), name this structure and its location.  If you're stuck, do ask.

Found it! For bragging rights!

Well done, Mr. Kerr.  Even during our chat today, I felt you were rather close without much help.

This natural tower is up for 10 points or bragging rights as well.  I'd like the full name, and its exact location.

I'll take bragging rights.  Looks like this is King Fisher Tower located at 38.7240°N 109.3083°W, near Moab, Utah.  Exact enough for you, Carmen?

Do brag, of course.  Does no one want points?

This next tower is more modern than our last two and is quite an icon on its own.

Once again, location and name, please; for 10 points or the rights to brag.

That's The Erickson, Vancouver Canada.  It's named after the architect, Arthur Erickson, who passed away May 20, 2010 just last year.  This building was finished in 2009, but it wasn't his last building, because the new Ritz-Carlton building also designed by Erickson is coming up.  But I don't think it's a Ritz anymore?

And I'll take the points, thank you. Yay to Canadians! :D

The design for the Ritz-Carlton is spectacular, I've heard little on its progress.  If you're in the know, Nina, keep me posted.  The points, as requested, are yours.

These sets of towers dot a landscape; understandably, you'll need to name the areas they span instead of a singular location.

For either points or... hm, you should know the rules by now.

For bragging rights.

This is a picture of the ancient watchtowers of the Qiang people in Western Sichuan, China.

I assume the watchtowers will span the length of their former 'empire' from northern Shaanxi to northern Henan.

The Qiang group currently are found mainly in western sichuan, in the five counties of Maoxian, Wenchuan, Lixian, Beichuan and Heishui of the Aba Tibetian and Qiang autonomous prefecture.

Mm, once again, well done.  I'm rather enjoying this.

This tower is rather well-known, but I'm partial to experimental HDR images.  It is up for points or otherwise, although the discovery of its name and location may be more of a conversation piece than anything else.

Nice how you're using 'tower' as a theme.  Witty.

Pictured is Torre de Belém in Lisbon.

I'll take 'otherwise', if you don't mind.  The baldacchino inside holds something that relates to the number 13750521.  Want to take me up on this?

Chase, your number is a date: May 21, 1375.  You're connecting the Manueline baldachin with a lit de justice.  I think I see what you're suggesting, but let's not deviate, shall we?

For bragging rights or 10 points, provide the name and location of this tower:

I'll assume, doctor, that you don't want points.

Our next tower (same rules as before, of course):

Name the structure, and its location.

I thought it was a top-down view too, but it's missing the French flag and flood lights... looks like a ground-up shot.
Nice how the center from this angle resembles a faceted amber.

Do you know if the LED lights are still in place from the 120-years anniversary celebration?

Well done, Mr. Kerr.  And Chase, you're right; passingly, the picture could have been of a mounted gem.  It's nice to see you two somewhat working together... practically. (As per Chase's question, the anniversary lights are no longer there, and the tower has its usual glow at night.)

Our next structure:

Yes, those are faces.  For points, you may name the building and its location.  But for bragging rights, if you're bold enough, you'll need to give me its story.

OH my gosh I've been trying to figure what this was forever! I searched tower with faces, building with mourning faces, etc. Then this afternoon when I trying to discern what kind of building it is...like a light bulb I realize maybe it's a prison! Haha!

It's the Caseros Prison in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

According to Wikipedia it was prison for political prisoners during the rule of the military dictatorship in the 1960s. The building was constructed next to an old orphanage. It was closed down in 2001. I can add more... of course.

Points please, thank you :)

You're quite the investigator, Elaine.  For that image, I've allocated 50 points.  They're yours now.

Due to its location, Caseros Prison cannot yet be demolished.  The twin towers stand as a monument to Argentina's difficult recent history.

For the same rules as before, points or bragging rights; our next tower recently had a grand opening:

That looks like somewhere in China.  Do I get half points if I just name the location and not the structure? *grins*

Is this the Henan Radio and Television Tower in Zhengzhou, capital of central China's Henan Province?

Nevon's "clue" got me looking in the right direction, I'd like to share any points I get with him Carmen.
