Paris, France
Patty, dressed in black and sporting a pair of night-vision goggles, raised herself to the roof of a cathedral... well, THE cathedral. This was Notre Dame de Paris, and it was full of gargoyles. Crouching as she walked, she took advantage of the shapes and shadows, making sure the high-caliber rubber on her boots gripped the roof tiles without damaging them.
For jobs that required height, Patty was fully equipped with lightweight steel rope and fasteners. Her legs and hands were wrapped with tape to avoid injuries, and they made her feel every bit of pressure that she put on them. It was like being a cat.
Tonight, her target was Little Dedo, a frumpy-looking gargoyle with crossed toes said to have been carved by a nun who didn't like the scary demons that guarded the cathedral. Among all these other carvings, LD was proving hard to find. Patty took off her goggles and adjusted the band, but it slipped off her hand, rolling and bouncing away.
"Fudge!" she exclaimed in a short, high pitched whisper and followed the eyewear down the slopes. When she finally caught up to it, it had stopped, its fall halted by two feet with crossed toes.
Patty smiled, "Hello LD!"
Sticking magnetic hooks with epoxy glue to where the schematics told her, the blonde college girl called for the helicopter. When it came, it quietly took Dedo, even Patty couldn't figure out how. Once the pickup was gone, she lowered herself down. Her job was done for the moment. Now it was time to go do something constructive, like shopping.
