This will be the OOC party planning thread and general ideas/suggestions for the upcoming Blue Moon Masquerade RP.

The RP takes place during the blue moon on New Years Eve, in Venice.

It will not be connected to nor interfere with other RPs (although we can make references to it).

We're aiming to start the RP by this Friday.

Current plan is for it to be officially an ACME only event, but everyone is wearing a mask and therefore unidentifiable, so the RP is open to all.

Any suggestions/items I haven't covered?

Once we have a solid foundation, we'll light this candle!

Agents,

The above pictures are of Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute, located near the Grand Canal in Venice, Italy. In the short hours that have passed, we were able to conclude the following:

The Giunta Comunale (Executive Board) of Venice, Italy, and its major (Massimo Cacciari) is hosting a New Year's Eve Masquerade ball at the pavilion outside of the city's former Customs House (Dogana da Mar) and the distinctively recognisable Salute. The ACME Detective Agency, obviously friends of the city, are invited to attend. (This shortly coincides with Chase's "Interview in Italy" as mentioned in the ACME Dorms RP.)

I have been assured that there will be fireworks as well as guests numbering in the thousands.

Also of note, if you're asking: "Why isn't the city hosting such a large party in St. Mark's Square instead?" The answer is... they are, there are two parts to this New Year party. St. Mark's Square is just across the river, and much of the city will be there. Our particular Masquerade will be at the Salute for exclusivity's sake... novelty. St. Mark's Square will be hosting the Carnival in February, so no Venetian really needs to be wearing masks for the New Year.

ACME agents who would like to experience Venice's central square may take a boat across at anytime.

Ai mates, I get it! We're temporary special guests, yeh? I like the idea, but any rules mate? It sounds like it's gonna be a short RP.

It's a chance for our characters to have a sort of Neutral Grounds outside the chat, I say mates. Best rule I like is the mask and we're all unidentifyable. Ace!

After some more discussions inside the site chat, we've decided on some basic rules:

To join this RP, you must either be at the start or have been given permission to join in later. Once this begins on Friday, it may move fast. Post below or join us in chat if you have questions.
This RP will be considered a 'One-Shot', meaning that it is not part of the 'Main' story, but it may be referenced to. The point is to give everyone's characters a chance to interact inside the forums without repercussions.
Act in this 'One-Shot' as you would in the 'Neutral Grounds' Chat... consider it a more logged Chat RP.
If you're seriously working on this 'Blue Moon' one-shot then you're not obliged to post in other RPs for a while.

As far as rules for ACME goes:

All agents must write their own arrival, you may come alone or in a small group.
No C-5 arrivals, everyone is coming to the party by gondola or boat.
No convictions -- in this one, throw out all your differences with any other character or enemy agent. You won't be chasing them, arresting them, or picking a fight. ACME isn't in Venice to work, we're guests, so act proper.
