Who: All ACME Agents

What: Takes place in the ACME Dormatory

Status: Open

[OOC: Okay dudes and gals of the ACME Detective Agency, I'm starting that Dorm RPG like I said I would. Join in whenever and however! ]

Nevon Blair dragged his suitcase and backpack up to the third floor of the ACME compound's living quarters. This was building A for long stay detectives and those who for any reason wanted to live right next to where they worked.

He smiled to a few girls walking past him in the hall. The reason he wanted to live right on the compound was because his girlfriend worked as an intern for the ACME administration. She lived in the fancy building nearby and since she flat out refused the idea of moving in together, he figured he wanted to be as close as he could. It's not that he didn't trust her, it's in his nature to over worry. Hot girls, they can't help being hot. A guy like him has got to hang in there.

Room 301, his new home away from home was unlocked. Turning the doorknob, Nev found a spacious pad with huge windows and a free flat screen that doesn't look like it's got cable. A framed map next to the entrance showed the exits in case of fire.

"Anybody in here?" Nevon asked while putting his bags down.

"Hey, come on in, but don't touch what I'm working on," Chip Masters said as he walked over to the kitchen area. He was not wearing his tie or his jacket at the moment, but still, his overall look just screamed "desk job". On the table was a disassembled workstation with a broken CD drive in it. "It's my first 'cupholder' incident so far," he muttered as he opened up the fridge to grab a d soda.

((I'm playing a bloke named Peter Moss, mates, Wesdon being my real name nd all))

Peter lazily got out of his dorm room number 303 to get ACME's morning newspaper. Given it was late in the afternoon and half the paper was already gone, this dorm had a few cute girls always walking around that were worth coming out the door for.  The Aussie yawned in his cap and trousers, he was still jet lagged from the trip and the all night party they had. Someone completed a case, or somebody got a promotion, he couldn't remember.

Nina West finished her afternoon tea of home brewed apartment grown herbs and loaded her dishes into the mini dish washer. Hearing someone drag a bag across the hall, she opened her door in time to see Nevon go to room 301. She's been here long enough to know that means--New Dormates!

Apparently glinding, she took a roll of crackers from her tiny pantry of gift stuffs and headed down the hall.

"Put on an effin shirt, Pete!" She threw a comment to the Australian, "And grooooovy party last night, you are SO 'Dundee'."

"Hey Chip!" Her voice was smoother instantly, "Crackers for you and the new guy." Handing the roll of crackers to Nevon, she looked around, "No tie AND a soda? Gonna be a loooong day, looks like?"

((I saw the flaw of using my username too.  No one names their kid "Detective Awesome", so D.A. will be Daniel Ainsworth))

Carrying two paper bags, Daniel "Danny" Ainsworth tried his best to avoid the coloured cups that remained in the hallway from last night's party.  As he passed, he could see that someone was moving into Chip Master's room (301), and that Nina was already there (probably with a welcome gift, too.)

"Hey, Pete!"  Danny greeted, as he put the bags down on a free table.  "Just came back from the ACME labs.  Want to try their new ACME-Vitamin-Protein-Caffeine-Energy Booster?  It comes in mystery fruit and pineapple-mayonnaise flavour.  Might get rid of that jet lag of yours."

"You bet it is," Chip said before taking a swig of his soda. "Three incidents of computer abuse today... one cupholder incident, a blown PSU, and an overheat due to fan blockage." He sighed, looking over the tower that was disassembled. "Sometimes I even wonder if I should get hazard pay from this type of stuff."

[OOC: Carmen started underlining names in the Roll With It RP, so I'll do that too for easier reading if nobody minds.]

Nevon put his bags down in the corner and took the crackers from Nina eagerly. They were wrapped in biodegradable recycled paper, and from the way she acted, she must be one of those San Francisco people his mom told him about.

"I'm Nevon, hi," he said to his roommate and the friendly girl. "Is giving crackers a normal thing around here?"

Making sure not to go too close to Chip's things, he sat down on an empty bed.

Pete laughed at Nina's comment and scratched his stomach. The living quarters was a relaxed place. He was about to ask if she knew where Danny went, when Danny showed up with ACME Lab's protein drink.

Pete took a can, snapped it opened and smelled the pineapple-mayonnaise. Ehm, no. He walked to the mini kitchen and poured the toxin down the drian.

"New bloke in 301, Danny," Peter passed the news when he was done, "Nother reason for a party tonight, yeh?"

"Don't you guys ever sleep?" a voice asked from behind leisurely.  Melissa Wayward, now Special Agent in training didn't technically live on this floor.  Anymore.  With the new position had come a new floor and a larger apartment like space to herself.  She'd never lived with any of them but the situation was familiar.  Leisurely she picked up the plastic cups, gathering the left over liquids in one cup before dumping it down the drain.

"No wonder we don't catch VILE... everyone's sleeping off last night's event..." Missy scolded lightly, conveniently ignoring the unconfirmed rumors that when she'd lived down here the drinks she used to mix up were notorious and her ability to juggle four wrenches was always a crowd pleaser.

"So rumor has it someone's moving in today..."  Having not had a chance to see who it was she didn't know that it was the detective she'd met a few days earlier.

Chip went back to working on the computers he was assigned to work on. Upon opening the case with the blocked fan, dust flew out, and Chip went into a coughing fit. "Where's the compressed air?" he called out.

"Oh yeah, it's a thing, you know, I give crackers," Nina replied to Nevon.  "They're home made, but I totally expect a favor in return, 'kay?" She looked serious then followed up with a laugh, "I'm kidding, little man, we're cool."

Nina overheard Danny and Pete talking about another party and chose to ignore yelling out a comment for now 'cause boys will be boys and she could use more partying fun too.  If no one has too much work tomorrow, they should go for a night out in San Francisco.  Clubbing upped the beat.

Then Chip started coughing.  Covering her own nose and mouth, Nina threw him what he asked for.

"Holly effin' Golightly, where is that case from, basement?"

Chip opened up a window and turned on the fan nearby. "Yeah... It was a parking garage security machine..." he said, blowing the compressed air inside the chassis. "Emphasis on was."

Justice took a sip of her chicken noodle soup while the weather channel reporter continued his monologue about rain, fog, and more rain.  She hadn't seen Gesa, but suspected that her roommate had already gone somewhere in the morning.

This was Justice's first week in the ACME San Francisco Headquarters, having transferred from Texas only a few days ago.  While she missed the ranch, she couldn't help feeling privileged to be here.  After all, these were the best of the best, some detectives even worked directly with Chase Devineaux.  And if she was lucky, kept her work up, and survive the rockin' parties the dormmies throw, she might just get assigned to a Carmen Sandiego case.

After finishing her breakfast, she laced up her boots and headed down the hall where she saw Chip Masters, Nina, and someone she didn't quite recognize yet.   At the end of the hall, she spotted Special Agent Melissa Wayward

Miss_Guided said:

"So rumor has it someone's moving in today..."

"Sounds right, a crowd's gatherin' in Chip's room."  Justice smiled.  "New guy's kinda cute."

As soon as she finished her sentence, loud coughing was heard from the ACME lab technician's room.  Justice peered in to see if everything was alright only to find the room filled with equipment (most of which she didn't understand), and the window open.

"Ya'll doin' okay here?"

"I'm the guy moving in," Nevon answered Agent Missy Wayward and waved.  "My name is Nevon Blair, you might 've seen me around?"  Of course, he couldn't mention Missy would have seen him in the garage with Chase Devineaux's Porsche Cayman, because that would be weird.

Chip suddenly asked for the compressed air and Nina got it for him.  Two beats, before Nev could get out of his chair, everything was ok.  ACME worked great as a team, and today was the first time Rookie Nevon saw an example outside the field.

Justice came in and Nevon took a few seconds to listen to her acent.  He grinned stupidly from ear to ear when she said something about the new guy being kind of cute.  Oh yeah, they were ALL doing okay here!

Danny shrugged as the ACME mystery concoction was poured down the drain.  The company has its hits and misses with inventions.

"Awesome!  I'll spread the news down the hall."

Stepping out, he could see that people were already gathering at Chip's room.  The new guy was pretty easy to spot, being in the center of the chaos with Nina's famous homemade crackers in hand.

"Welcome, New-Guy!  Party tonight in your honor, what name do we write on the welcome banner?"

Then turning to the other detectives he continued, "Pete and I call music and pizza.  Someone's gotta do drinks this time.. and if anyone's on a case with the C5, bring back some local food, eh?"

((ooc Yay, congrats, Nevvy!))

Gesa, roommate to Justice and all-around dramatic, scurried up to the 3rd floor hallway and was elated to find everyone already assembled in or near Chip Masters's room.  She made her way to the crowd.

"Oh my God, I am so crushing on Chase Devineaux right now," Gesa dramtically anounced, grabbed Chip's remote, and took a seat next to some guy.  "Hey, are you new?" She had a habit of talking fast and didn't wait for an answer.

"Any way, guys, I saw this on the monitors after training," she turned on the news.  "Italian TV. They interviewed Mr. D for something, whatever, I didn't hear everything, but yeah, he's hot."

"SO!" the topic changed, "There's a rumor in the gym security intercepted a VILE code thingy. Chief's gonna call, like, seven detectives, huge case."  She put the remote down, "I know it's not going to be me 'cause I have a primer to study for next week. I'm on paperwork only until, like, May."

Looking around, she pointed back to the new guy, "Seriously, are you new?"

"Gis, duh he's new. I gave him effin' crackers." Nina laughed, kind of staring at Chase Devineaux on Italian TV too, "Dude, when was this interview shot?  Isn't he back in town?"

Thinking about what Gesa said on the rumor that Chief was going to call 7 agents, she looked at Chip.  "You know what I bet, Chip?  I bet you and I are one of the 7, I put in my request for occasional field work the same time you did."

Chip looked at Nina. "Hey, field equipment gets broken too. That's why I signed up. Hopefully nobody's monitor will light on fire while I'm away." He pulled out the power supply from the dusty computer, which was covered in charred fuzz. "Oh jeez, this is the worst case of equipment abuse I've ever seen." He turned to see the interview on TV. "Gesa, please turn it down a bit."

Pete walked closer to Chip's room and checked around to see what was going on.  He took off his cap with a little salute when he saw Missy Wayward, she was a special agent and he was taught to be polite.

He listened in on Gesa's rambling, nothing unusual, and snickered when he saw what was on TV.  You mention Chase Devineaux was coming and a few girls might adjust their hair, but not Gesa, she'd go change her entire outfit.

"All agreed, Mates? Gonna go clean the room for more partying in a bit."

"Yeah cool, I got the drinks," Nina was planning to mix her awesomest mocktails this side of Canada, "I'm going to pick up kooaid, gingerale, and a few other stuff, who has a wallet they wanna lend? New Guy?" She winked at Nevon.
