Although VILE Headquarters officially closed at the begining of April (2011), it took a while to properly archive it. This is done now and it can be viewed at http://vileheadquarters.dreamhosters.com.
FAQS
This section actually makes me a bit sad to write, but I'm tired of answering these questions in chat. :/
Why would you admit to having been the admin of VILE Headquarters?
Because that site was, in essence, the prototype community that led up to the creation of this community. Many of your favorite RPers and characters initially started out over there. In fact, I find it hard to understand why I get this question at all.
If it wasn't crap, then why did all of the crappy fanfic writers come over when it closed down?
I'm going to assume that this reffers to the Fan Episode writers, because I havn't seen anything else on the site that's different now than it was prior to the migration.
The truth of the matter is that the Carmen Sandiego franchise is so large and diverse that we at VHQ felt it would be wrong to try and claim that one facet of the fandom was better than another. I mean, we did Carmen Sandiego themed scavenger hunts and stage shows. You really couldn't get more pathetic on the nerdiness scale that where we were at, so who where we to judge others?
Because of this we kept an open mind and created a section where those that wanted to write CS game shows could. Turns out that they're more active than the rest of us *shrugs* (they have a radio show too!). Regardless, when VHQ shut down, they were homeless and came over here.
VILE Headquarters wasn't originally a Role-Playing Community?
Nope. It was a compendium to the afformentioned scavenger hunts and stage shows. The role-playing stuff only came around after an extended lull in productions and as a means to keep the site interesting.
Why did you create VHQ when you had TECS?
TECS didn't exist in 2006, when VILE Headquarters was created. TECS came around later when Will joined VHQ privately (at the reccomendation of CJ) for discussion on what we would like to see in terms of an officially sponsored Carmen Sandiego community or online game thing... I'm not to clear on the details there anymore as it happened to long ago, but after some initial input and something going down on the industry side of things, this site was born.
If you were a part of TECS so long ago, why is your account so new?
I didn't log on for a couple of years and it got deactivated. Upon reactivation, it recieved a higher member number for some reason. Ask the administrative staff. They'll confirm that.
How did you get involved with Carmen Sandiego?
Through Stephanie (The Carmen on VHQ and the stage shows). She knew that I did webpage design and matenance and had me build/run the compendium site for her. Because she liked Flag and liked the idea of an all inclusive "Villains' International League of Evil," she had specifically asked that I portray him online and at the conventions (which is weird to me because I'm a tiny little girl, but it somehow worked out *shrugs*).
As for the In-Character reasons that Flag got wrapped up with VILE, that's a secret. :)
Can you approve/update/add rank/etc. to my account?
No... I'm just a forum user here on the site. I don't have any administrative abilities here whatsoever.
For more information on the staff and stuff, please see this thread.
