St. Expeditus - Patron against Procrastination
April 19 is St. Expeditus's day. If you haven't heard about St. Expeditus, now is probably the time to get acquainted. We stumbled on to him around the time we were researching St. Mungo for the Glasgow section of Sarah Nade's "Case of the Chimes" Game thanks to Danny (DetectiveAwesome) who mentioned the saint in one of his posts. Often depicted with a cross in his right hand and a crow beneath his left foot, the story of St. Expeditus varies from a case of mistaken identity to a case of misrepresentation. According to one legend, St. Expeditus planned to convert to Christianity when a black raven came to his window and shouted "Cras cras" meaning "Tomorrow tomorrow". St. Expeditus crushed the crow and vowed to convert today. Since then, he has become the patron saint against procrastination. Aside from being against Procrastination, St. Expeditus also is Patron Saint of emergencies, financial success, prompt solutions, computer programmers, merchants, and ecommerce. |
