| Character Background: | SOPHIE CONRAD was born in Lugano, Switzerland, the only child of Thomas Conrad and Bianca Deneuve. She was raised in the city of Geneva, where her father worked as a private banker and her mother as a geologist. When she was twelve years old, her parents separated. She continued to live with her father while spending her holidays with her mother. After obtaining her Matura, Sophie followed her father back to his hometown in Rockport, Maine. She then entered into Boston College, and consecutively the Harvard Medical School, to pursue a Doctor of Medicine. Thereafter, she joined the Massachusetts General Hospital and completed her residency in its Emergency Department. In late-2008, a chance encounter with Chase Devineaux led Sophie to consider a stint in ACME. Intrigued by the dealings of the agency and attracted by the chance to travel the world, she submitted an application to practice there. It was accepted and she made the move to San Francisco in early-2010.
